401(k) Plan
The first of the month following 90 days of continuous employment, eligible employees may participate in the United Bankshares, Inc. Savings and Stock Investment Plan. This plan offers employees the opportunity
to prepare for retirement years by saving money on a pre-tax basis.
In addition, after one year of continuous employment, eligible employees will begin to receive the Bank’s employer match. The Bank will match a portion of employee’s deferrals. Both your deferrals
and the company match are 100% vested from day one of your participation.
Our plan accepts rollover contributions from another qualified plan and allows loans and hardships withdrawals
Medical Insurance
United Bank offers full-time employees the choice to participate in a competitive medical and prescription drug plan. The company and employee share the premium for this coverage.
Dental Insurance
United Bank offers full-time employees the option to participate in a dental insurance plan. Routine preventative dental care, as well as coverage for basic and major dental services, is provided subject to plan deductibles and maximums. An orthodontic benefit is provided for dependent children.
Vision Insurance
Vision coverage is included if you elect to participate in one of the medical plans offered. It offers annual eye exams and discounts on contact lenses or glasses if you utilize participating providers.
Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D)
Group term life insurance coverage is provided to full-time employees. Coverage is calculated as a multiple of base salary. AD&D benefits equal to the level of the life insurance benefit is also provided. Coverage is provided at no cost to the employee.
Long-Term Disability Insurance (LTD)
LTD coverage is provided to all full-time employees. LTD insurance provides continued income in the event an employee becomes disabled and cannot continue to work for an extended period. Coverage is calculated as a percentage of base salary. Coverage is provided at no cost to the employee.
Supplemental Life Insurance
Full-time employees may purchase additional group term life insurance coverage at competitive rates. Coverage may also be purchased for a spouse or eligible dependents.
Paid Time Off
United provides paid time off to eligible employees. The number of paid days provided is based on length of service and employee classification.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan
The Employee Stock Purchase Plan is intended to provide employees with an opportunity to acquire an ownership interest in United Bankshares, Inc. by allowing the purchase of common stock through payroll deduction.

It is the Bank's intent to assist in furthering the education of its employees by providing quality in-house training programs, external conferences and seminars, as well as a competitive tuition reimbursement program for undergraduate and graduate courses.
